News: Steam Hacked

In a statement that was released on Thursday the 10th of November Valve honestly admitted that it was possible credit account information as well as account details were taken during an attack on the Steam forums.

While Valve aren't forcing the change of passwords it has been recommended. Particularly if you have a credit card associated with your account.

While this is regrettable some have said it was only a matter of time with Steam being such a high profile target. What should be taken from this unfortunate event though is Valve have been thoroughly honest in accepting responsibility and making a clear statement to its customers. If only Sony had acted in the same fashion when the PSN was compromised earlier this year.
